Youth Climate Ambassadors and Air Quality Monitors

The Youth Climate Ambassadors of Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action hosted an educational workshop on October 12th, 2024 at the Parkersburg and Wood County Library to learn about Purple Air Monitors. This program was led by WV Citizen Action Group organizers – Dani Parent and Morgan King. Purple Air monitors track local, real-time air quality and data that can be shared with the public and is used worldwide to assist in measuring particle pollution in the air you breathe. These monitors are small and take up almost no space – just need a place to plug them in. You can also choose between indoor and outdoor sensors, or both! You can check out your local air quality using an interactive map loaded with important information by going to map.purpleair.com.
